As recorded in the South Florida Business Journal, nonprofit organizations such as the Make-a-Wish-Foundation of Miami, are beginning to use the social networks of Twitter and Facebook in their efforts to raise awareness for their cause. One specific example is Victoria, an 8-year-old child from Royal Palm Beach, who’s dream was to record her own CD. One update on the Make-a-Wish Twitter page gained dozens of “tweets” from the organization’s 105 followers.
